Angela Homsi is co-founder and president at Ignite Power, a market leader in sustainable solutions in emerging markets building NextGen utility services. Ignite pioneered an innovative infra-tech model, centred on its mission to deliver universal access to clean and life-enabling power and internet infrastructure in emerging markets, reaching millions people across fourteen countries.
Ignite won multiple prizes and accolades, such as the Zayed Sustainability Prize (Energy)
awarded at COP28, and the IRENA’s fifth project cycle for its innovative PPPs to deliver clean power at scale.
Ms Homsi also chairs the Africa Innovation Fund, seats on the board of several sustainable tech startups in Africa and serves on the IC of Microvest Capital. She thrive to create innovative and systemic solutions to solve global sustainable challenges in the Global South, at the intersection of tech innovation, smart finance and cross-border partnerships.
Previously, she spent over a decade as an investor at VP Al Gore’s sustainable investment firm
Generation, and at Goldman Sachs, developing her experience in multi asset class finance, sustainability, and tech investing.
Her nonprofit work has included leadership roles with Search for Common Ground, chairing Seeds of Peace global leadership board, awarded chair of YPO global diplomacy network, Milken-Motseppe Greentech judge, a Commissioner for the Capital Mobilisation Accelerator, founding board member at NSI and deep involvement in track II initiatives, as well as working alongside one of the “father of impact investing” Sir Ronald Cohen for post-conflict countries’ economic development. She is an avid lecturer and news contributor in multiple universities and institutions globally, such as Technion, Tel Aviv university, New York University, University of Galilee, TEDX, Milken Institute, AIM, Globes, I24 News, Ynet News, and more.Angela lives in Abu Dhabi. She is a mathematics and economics scholar, and a Singularity University Executive Graduate. She speaks French, English, Spanish, some Arabic and Hebrew.
