Mathias Charles Yabe is an award-winning Ghanaian social entrepreneur and innovator driven by a passion to create positive community impact. As the founder and CEO of AkoFresh, he developed a solar-powered cold storage technology that extends the shelf life of perishable produce by up to 21 days, which has directly impacted over 3,000 smallholder farmers and helped save millions in income.
In addition, Yabe supports the Hult Prize Foundation to empower youth in social entrepreneurship and innovation. He has also mentored aspiring entrepreneurs through the Women Entrepreneurship Accelerator Challenge, hosted by the International Telecommunication Union, and the Your Future in Green Jobs Fellowship with the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens.
Through his leadership, Mathias continues to empower marginalized communities and build climate resilience in Ghana and beyond. His impactful work has earned him global recognition from the Global Solutions Initiative, World Economic Forum, FAO, UNICEF, St. Gallen Symposium, UNIDO and others.
